The award ceremony of the Calabria Movie International Short Film Festival 2022 was held last night in the Municipal Gardens of Crotone. The artistic directors Matteo Russo, Luisa Gigliotti and Antionio Buscema created an exceptional event thanks also to the collaboration of many highly talented local guys.
The director of Unica, Alessandro Marzullo, was there to present the short, interviewed by the actress Giorgia Arena, “Godmother” of the evening.
Giorgia Arena:
“When I saw the short I was very impressed. You talk about the values of society, aesthetics and beauty. Tell us a little about this short…”
Alessandro Marzullo:
“In the era we are living in, it is very difficult to understand what values we must follow. The world has changed a lot in the last thirty years, even very quickly. Social networks are a recent phenomenon, which affects us closely. All of us from the show business, but also those who are sitting here in the audience tonight, have to deal with our own image. In my opinion this theme deserved a deep reflection, which I expressed with this short film”.
Unica received the Confartigianato Prize for the “Best Production“. The award was presented to Alessandro Marzullo by the producer Stefano Chiavarini, who read the following motivations:
“The Award goes to an opera directed in a contemporary and profound way, which investigates the meaning of beauty. Although Unica’s production structure is truly independent, the short film has nothing to envy to big budget productions”.
The award goes to the three souls that created this short film: Flickmates, Maestro and OurFilm and to all those who took care of the production, such as Antonio Giampaolo, Vernon Chen, Alessandro Marzullo, Giuseppe Cristiano, Camilla Crisciotti, Valerio Chicca, Martina Cavazzana, Nicholas Fiorentino.
Unica is distributed in festivals worldwide by LineUp Shorts – Film Agency (ESP).
